Grab a little ball of energy

These homemade energy cubes are a great way to get a healthy energy boost. They include dates, almonds, Chia seeds, raw cacao powder, coconut oil, and almond butter.

I’ve added a few drops of peppermint essential oil to this batch, (because when I gave him the options Keith decided on peppermint) but wild orange is bursting with flavour too!

They are really easy to make and once we've made a batch we keep them in the fridge and take a few with us when we're out and about and might need a boost.

200g Almonds
400g Medjool dates
4 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tbsp almond butter
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp chia seeds

Optional extras:
5 drops Peppermint or 5 drops Wild Orange Essential oil.
Desicated coconut flakes for coating.

Place almonds in a food processor and blitz for 30 seconds until crushed. Then pit the dates and add them. Put in all the other ingredients plus 2 tbsp of water and blend until the mixture is smooth and sticky.
Roll the mixture into small balls (about the size of a 10p piece). Place the balls in the freezer for an hour to set, then store in an air-tight container in the fridge.
